Cinder by Marissa Meyer Book Review ! *NO SPOILERS*

Wow. Many of the book reviews I seem to write make me feel a kind of indifference toward whatever book it is I am reviewing.

This however, is literally one of my favourite stories and I can't get enough!
Cinder is a YA Distopian novel about a cyborg (half human/half robot) teenager called Linh Cinder. Cinder is a greasy mechanic who loves to pull things apart and rebuild them. One day, Prince Kai (adored by millions) enters her shack to ask her to fix a seemingly suspicious android. From there, Cinder finds out who she is really is, and at what cost knowing that comes.

This story has everything i love. It has action in the bucketload, romance, and keeps you firmly at the edge of your seat. This book is book 1 of The Lunar Chronicles, followed by Scarlett and Cress, with Winter coming out this year.
The character development is second to none, and all the battles each character faces draws you closer to them.

Stories that mirror fairytales very often don't do the original justice for me, but Marissa Meyer nods towards these much loved fairytales in a brilliantly original way. It feels like she has melted the original fairytale down to its very core and built it back up to a story that is refreshing and equally as strong in its own right.

In the midst of YA Dystopian novels, i urge you to give the Lunar Chronicles a go. This little gem is one that will keep you coming back and eagerly awaiting the next book. Stars, this is one you don't wanna miss out on!

Thanks for reading,
eleanor
