A Long Weekend in Liverpool.

Myself and Luke recently went to Liverpool for a fun weekend away. If you've ever read my little writings then you will know we made a bucket list for the year of 2015. Quite a few months in we have managed to tick quite a few off the list, but our trip to Liverpool meant we managed to tick a further 2.

Whilst in Liverpool we went to Anfield Stadium to watch a charity match organised by Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard. There were players there such as Suarez, Thierry Henry, Balotelli, and many more.

It was absolutely freezing and I'm not sure I could be convinced to go again, but Luke absolutely loved it. I can't fully write about this as it's not a subject I know massively about, but at least I've finally experienced a Great British football match!

What I really wanted to go to Liverpool for was of course, The Beatles. I've grown up with my dad playing Beatles CD's to us, and I associate a lot of happy memories with the songs of the fab four.
We visited Penny Lane, Albert Dock, and of course the amazing Beatles Story tour, kind of like an interactive museum.

Once you've paid for your ticket, you get a free audio set that offers interviews with the people behind the band, and also family members of The Beatles. It was fascinating to see real memorabilia and they had even re-fashioned the famous Cavern Club.
When you purchase your ticket, you also gain entry to the "PT.2" which includes a 4D show (make sure you've got your waterproof mascara, ladies!) that I think young children would really enjoy.
This "PT.2" is a little walk up, we walked with the docks on our left. It offered a really nice view, even on a shabby day!

If you are a Beatles Fan, coming to Liverpool is an absolute must. There was also the opportunity to go on a bus tour to see Paul Mccartney's house, etc, but we did run out of time.

The people of Liverpool are so friendly, very different from the southern attitude I'm quite used to! You are absolutely guaranteed to have a culturally rich, amazing time in Liverpool, where everything from the architecture to the people is absolutely fantastic.
Have you ever been?
What's your favourite Beatle's song??

Thanks for Reading,

Ellie  x
