Into the Woods Film Review!!!

Okay, so this weekend was the first weekend in a long time that I actually felt up to doing something outside of the house that wasn't just walking round a park with my boyfriend.
I sometimes feel like I'm boring him, because I don't always want to do like mad, adrenaline filled activities. Anyway, so we decided to go bowling together with my brother and his girlfriend. I was so proud of Luke he was absolutely amazing, he scored so many strikes and I'm pleased that we decided to go bowling as it kind of allowed me to learn more things that I love about him. He'd think that was ridiculously dramatic but it's the little cute things that make my heart swell for him even more. Especially when he won both of the games that we played, haha!

Anyway, so after a fun evening bowling, we decided to end our night by watching Into the Woods.

The story tells of a baker and his wife. The baker discovers that he and his wife can't have children due to a curse placed on his family by the wicked witch. In order to lift the curse, the baker must locate a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn, and a slipper made of the purest gold. As I don't want to ruin the rest of the story, that is all I'm going to give you!

Into the Woods is Disney's new movie that brings together multiple fairytales in to one story. I found it really clever and easy to follow, but especially loved the les-mis singing-of-dialect style of movie.
It's an absolutely star-studded cast, with the likes of Johnny Depp, James Corden, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Anna Kendrick. I have to warn you, if you are not a fan of musicals DO NOT under any circumstance watch this movie. I however loved it. So there. :P

Meryl Streep played the wicked witch, which was a role I felt she really made her own. She definitely made me jump quite a bit! I found this movie had a good balance of having a genuine storyline, with light comedic themes. I was worried as James Corden was starring that this film would be far too joke-y for my liking, but I actually found that the humour was very tasteful and actually funny!

Anyway, I really enjoyed this movie and really recommend it. At 125 minutes long, it's definitely a long film but is really worth the investment of time!
Have any of you seen it?
What do you think?
I would give this movie a strong 7/10, let me know your ratings!
