Scrapbooking!
Whilst my scrapbook isn't an expensive Eric Condren one, or made by the hands of an artistic scrapbooker, it is mine and I love it. I am always impressed with myself when I flick through it, impressed that all of this years events have been stored and saved in one place.
Scrapbooking according to some areas of the internet costs money, but I have found that keeping mine literally costs such a tiny amount of money. I thought i would do a blog post today to give some inspiration, and to share my scrapbook.
As you can see, they are basic pages but they mean a lot to me.
I always print my photos from the FreePrints app on my phone. I really like this app because you get 45 free photos a month, and you can upload them from your phone, Facebook or Instagram account. I usually just order them in a standard 6 x 4, but you can also opt to have the photos printed smaller or larger for a small added fee. The app also tells you if any of the photos you've picked are too dark, or if they may not come in good quality due to blurriness, red eye, etc. I really like this feature as you're never disappointed when the photos come.
I enjoy printing my photos, as I always worry that in the future I will have nothing to show my children. I love leafing through my mothers photos of when she was younger, but due to now uploading most of my photos to Instagram and Facebook I was worried that I would lose them to the internet. Having a hard copy means I can take that with me wherever I go.
Once I've picked my photo's, i pick my colour theme to go with the page. I got this big tub of really good felt-tip pens from Paperchase, for around £7. You can get even cheaper packs of felt tips from Tesco's etc, but I like how I have a lot of choice, a massive bucket to chose from!
I bought these washi tapes when I was visiting my dad in Qatar, for around £1 each. I love that you can make borders with these, and really want to get more!
I love the Cath Kidston-esque of this pattern.
Once I've picked my colour theme and photos, I simply arrange my photo's in a really simple way, leaving myself a tiny bit of room to say where the photos were taken and when.
Do you have a scrapbook? I love scrapbooking, keeping all of my memories secure in one place. When I have children, I can't wait to show them it and hope that they enjoy seeing their family and the things we got up to.
Thanks for reading!
