Dylan Moran, Live Comedy, Relaxing and More...
I'm not sure as to why, but recently I have had no desire to blog, or even write in my personal diary. I think it stems from feeling quite depressed, but I think that by writing I can work out any issues I have through my writing. SOOO this means that I just want to do a bit of a monotonous and boring post about how my week has been, just to kind of reiterate to myself that I need to be grateful for all of the good things I have in my life.
Myself and Luke went to see comic "Dylan Moran" at The Royal & Derngate Theatre in my hometown recently. In case you haven't heard of him before, Dylan Moran is an Irish comedian who has been in quite a few British comedies such as Shaun of the Dead and Run Fatboy Run. Moran also starred in TV Show "Black Books'.
Despite having been aware of Moran, I had never watched his stand up, nor did I have any idea he was still doing it.
I was very pleasantly surprised.
If you have not heard of Dylan Moran before, or of the films I have just mentioned, I urge you to watch them. His comedy has the essence of dry Irish humour, but with a large splash of intelligent and cleverly thought out wit. I was so surprised at the meticulous timing of his anecdotes, and laughter was growing and exploding with every word uttered. It was truly an amazing night, and after watching his stand up I fully intend to scour the internet looking for any more clips of this insanely funny man.
I finish this post with how I spent my last evening of the glorious weekend. Alone time for me, is something that really helps to de-stress and is an absolute necessity. This Sunday evening I opted for a bath, face mask and book.
This face mask was the saviour to my acne ridden skin, and was purchased from Lush Cosmetics. This beautifully minty, self preserving gloop has small gritty pieces that aid the exfoliation of your skin, while the mint leaves you feeling heavenly clean. I think it smells like mint choc chip ice cream too! This pot was £9 but I have had about 4 masks out of it so far and I have around two-thirds of the pot left, so it is definitely worth the investment.
The bath bomb I used was also from Lush Cosmetics and this is an old favourite... "sex bomb". I remember when the Lush store first opened in my home town and I went in to the gloriously smelly shop, albeit overwhelmed. The amount of choice and scents meant that I picked up the first thing I saw, completely unaware of what it actually was. I got home and tried this, and the rest, as they say, is history.
The book i'm currently reading is "Elizabeth is Missing" by Emma Healey. I'm really enjoying it and am finding it to be really different to what I first thought it would be. However, I shall be writing up a full review once I have finished it.
How was your week?
Thank you for reading,
Ellie xx
